“I did not expect that because of the PCES course, I would become a business owner.”

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family.

I am Blair Evanosky, and I have been a physical therapist for 12 years. I have two kids with my husband, Matt. Stella is 4, and Julian is 3. I enjoy riding my bike and hiking in my off time, though the miles and difficulty have changed drastically lately as my kids love to join. I own Pregnancy and Postpartum PT which is located in Westford, Massachusetts.

Why were you looking for a course like Sarah's? How were you feeling physically/emotionally? How are you feeling now?

I signed up for the PCES course because although I was a physical therapist and had been to pelvic floor physical therapy as a patient, I still felt stuck when it came to making smart exercise choices for myself after having children and being diagnosed with prolapse.

How has this program changed the way you train your clients?

I am now confident in my exercise choices for myself and my clients. No more wondering if this is a good idea. No more just skipping workouts because I didn’t know what to do. My clients love that I can get them back to their full activity levels safely.

What did you expect to get out of it versus what you got?

I expected to learn how to progress exercises through the PCES course, but I never imagined how it would re-energize me and give me better strategies for treatment on things I thought I was an expert at. I did not expect that because of the PCES course I would become a business owner.

The PCES program changed my whole trajectory. I was discharged from PT still wondering how to get back to higher level exercises, and I vowed not to do that to my clients. Under the traditional insurance-based model of physical therapy care, this is hard to do. So (with a lot of help from Sarah’s Inner Circle mentoring) I opened my own clinic, Pregnancy and Postpartum PT, where I work directly for my clients. I took the PCES course in the spring of 2018 and went on to open my business in the fall of 2019. I help women return to running, CrossFit, Jujitsu and chasing their kids.

Was there anything in the program that really surprised you/your favorite part?

It sounds so cheesy to say a course was life changing -- but for me, it truly was. I have never taken a better CEU course and I expect I never will. I’ve tried to narrow down to a key piece I learned from Dr. Sarah and the PCES course, and I just can’t narrow it down, it’s so much! With every client I see, I use some part of the PCES course; pressure management, movement breakdown, exercise progressions, posture and exercise cueing. It has seriously been such a game changer for me.
