Feeling Empowered and Confident #PCES Hero- Eva Kurcikova

Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family (kids and ages, how long you've been a trainer, anything you'd like to share.)

My name is Eva, I am 38 years old, and I am a mom of 2 boys - Martin - 7 y.o. and Jakub, 3 y.o. I live in Slovakia, Europe. I am a coffee addict, enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle, and run a mom blog at www.fit4motherhood.com. I had a lot of postpartum issues including diastasis and a weak pelvic floor after my babies. I followed multiple online programs and worked out in the gym in hopes of resolving my belly pooch and losing weight after giving birth. The only problem was that nothing seemed to work, and I felt like my body had failed me.

How did you hear about/find the PCES course?

I had been following Sarah on social media for quite some time and I took her free courses.

Why were you looking for a program like Sarah's? How were you feeling physically/emotionally?

I had zero knowledge about what had happened to my body after giving birth, I just knew I wanted to be able to exercise like I did before having kids. After I found out I had diastasis and my doctor suggested surgery, I started searching for a PT in my area who could help me with my issues and save me from surgery. But I had no luck finding someone who would help me, so I decided to do my own research. I did a lot of work on myself and managed to heal the diastasis, and slowly I came to a decision to take the PCES course. I just felt like this is what I am meant to do – help women like me to heal. Help them to get strong, and not let them settle for "mom badges." I wanted to show them that it IS POSSIBLE.

How are you feeling now?

It has literally changed my life. I feel empowered because I know my body, I feel confident in my own skin and most importantly, I can help other moms to experience the same.

How has this program changed the way you train your clients?

This course has changed my whole trajectory. I knew I wanted to train women and help them to get stronger after having a baby, but I didn't know exactly how I would do that. Thanks to this course, I found out exactly what and how.

Before taking this course, I had no idea pelvic floor dysfunction was a thing and I also did not know how posture and breathing can affect postpartum healing. It has provided me with great knowledge and totally changed my approach to training sessions.

Do you feel your clients are getting better results because of what you learned in PCES?

Thanks to Sarah´s course, I was able to create my own training technique that I use on most of my postpartum clients. I am so proud that apart from a great training session, I can give my clients HOPE and motivation. I can show them that they don't have to settle for absolutely any of those "postpartum badges." I can show them that there is a way out of it and they can look and feel good, despite pregnancy and motherhood.

What was your favorite part of the course?

This course has been a game-changer for me. So much valuable information is put in a simple way so that even a foreigner like me would understand. I especially enjoyed the breathing and posture section that has been an eye-opener for me, and also the case studies as that is what still helps me to examine my own clients.

What did you expect to get out of it versus what you got?

Thanks to this course, I´ve become a business owner. I´ve created an awesome online community and I also get to train women 1 on 1 and in small groups. I get to visit new moms for a workout session in the comfort of their homes, and I am working on my signature online workout program. I am also looking for different ways to reach as many women as possible in my country, since there is really very little awareness about the postpartum body, health, and fitness here.
